Are We A Good Fit?

At Mindful Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine, we are dedicated to providing compassionate, comprehensive, and evidence-based care for your children and adolescents. Our practice is built on a foundation of principles that guide every interaction and decision we make. To ensure that we are the right fit for your family, we encourage you to review our practice policies and philosophies.

Vaccine Policy

Our practice strictly follows the immunization schedule recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). We believe that vaccines are a critical component of preventive healthcare and are essential for protecting children from serious illnesses. We require all our patients to comply with the recommended vaccine schedule to ensure the safety and health of our entire patient community.

Financial Policies

To provide transparency and clarity, we have established the following financial policies:

  • Payment: Payment for services is due at the time of the visit. We accept various forms of payment, including debit/credit cards and insurance plans. If you are unable to comply, you must speak with the billing department prior to the visit to set up a payment plan if necessary.

  • Insurance: We participate in many insurance plans. It is the responsibility of the patient or guardian to understand their insurance benefits and coverage. Our billing staff will do their best to assist you with insurance questions; however, If you have questions about your coverage, it is best check with your specific insurance company.

  • Billing: : Invoices for any outstanding balances will be sent monthly. Payment is required to maintain the continuity of care.

Antibiotic and Medication Policy

In alignment with our commitment to responsible and effective medical care, we have specific policies regarding the prescription of antibiotics and medications:

  • Antibiotics: Antibiotics will be prescribed only when clinically indicated based on a thorough evaluation. We do not prescribe antibiotics over the phone without a proper examination.

  • Medications: Medications for chronic conditions or acute illnesses will be managed with careful consideration and regular follow-ups. Refills and new prescriptions require an in-person visit to ensure appropriate use and monitoring.

Practice Policies

Our practice policies are designed to create a safe, respectful, and effective care environment:

  • Appointment Scheduling: Please call our office to schedule appointments. We encourage timely arrival to ensure that all patients receive the care they need.

  • Cancellations: If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please notify us at least 24 hours in advance to avoid a cancellation fee.

  • Communication: For non-urgent questions or concerns, please use our patient portal. We strive to respond promptly during business hours. We utilize automated patient reminders via text messages and emails for appointments for routine care, follow up visits and to help assure your child’s immunizations remain up to date.
